Dr. Edwards is a graduate of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of the West Indies (UWI) and has interests in the fields of STI/HIV, dermatology and public health. He is the Director of the Medical Research Foundation of Trinidad and Tobago, Chairperson of the Trinidad and Tobago Dermatological Society and a Lecturer in Public Health at UWI.
